Hi, I’m Alex — welcome to Cooking Also! I’m so glad you’re here.
I created this blog because, like you, I believe food is more than just something we eat — it’s how we celebrate, connect, and care for the people we love. Whether it’s a weeknight dinner, a holiday gathering, or just a craving for something delicious, cooking is always part of the story. That’s where the name Cooking Also came from — because no matter what life brings, we’re always cooking also.
How It All Started
My love for cooking didn’t come from culinary school — it started in a tiny kitchen with too few pans and way too much ambition. I remember helping my family prep meals during the holidays, standing on a chair just to reach the counter, fascinated by how a few simple ingredients could turn into something magical.
Over time, what started as curiosity grew into passion. I experimented with everything from comfort food classics to bold, creative flavor combos. And every dish told a story — of family, of tradition, of trial and error, of laughter, and sometimes smoke alarms.
Starting this blog was my way of sharing that story — and yours, too. Whether you’re a beginner in the kitchen or a seasoned home cook, I hope you’ll find recipes here that feel like home, that spark joy, and that make you say, “I need to make that again.”
What You’ll Find Here
Cooking Also is full of approachable, flavorful recipes — from soul-warming casseroles and sizzling skillet meals to decadent desserts and creative appetizers. You’ll also find tips to make cooking a little easier, a little faster, and a lot more fun.

Thanks for being here and for letting me be part of your kitchen journey.
Let’s keep cooking — also.
— Alex
