- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Green and red food coloring
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into two parts. Color one part with green food coloring and the other with red.
- Roll out each colored dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
- Using leaf-shaped cookie cutters, cut out cookies and place them on a baking sheet.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
