- 1 egg
- 1 cup ice water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Fresh berries for garnish
Instructions
- Slice the cheesecake into even pieces (about 8 slices).
- Freeze the slices for at least 2 hours or until solid.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
- Beat the egg in another bowl and mix it with ice water.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients to make the tempura batter.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Dip the frozen cheesecake slices into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Carefully place the battered slices in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with fresh berries.
